This painting captures the familiar curves of Bilgola Bends, winding through the bush between Avalon and Newport.
I have driven this road so many times, and I have always loved the way it twists through the landscape, with glimpses of light, trees and coastline appearing around each bend. There is something both beautiful and slightly mysterious about this stretch of road, especially when the shadows fall across it.
For me, Bilgola Bends holds that unmistakable feeling of coming home to the Northern Beaches.
